Set up a new Messaging Rule to collect guest email addresses since the platforms don’t typically provide these for you.
Why
We want to use them for email marketing with a StayFi or Mailchimp integration. This will allow StayFi to pull the guests’ contact info directly from your Hospitable account and into the StayFi account where you can create email campaigns to push guests’ to your direct site.
How
Setting Up a Messaging Rule
- Log in and go to Guest Experience
- Click the Messaging Rules tab
- Click the Add New button
- Select After Reservation
- Adjust Timing to 2 minutes After a New Reservation Is Accepted
- Add one of the messages below to ask for their email
Messaging Rule Copy Ideas
- Hey %guest_first_name%, please reply with your best email address. We can message through %platform%, but we like to have a second way of communicating just in case.
- Hey %guest_first_name%, please reply with your best email address. We’ll communicate via the %platform% app, but just in case we like to have your email on file.
StayFi offers two primary services:
- Collecting email addresses via wifi hardware installed in the property (paid service)
- Email marketing (free service up to 200 contacts)
